Awards & Community Involvement:
Justin Garrity, Pop Art's Creative Director, joined the Art Institute of Portland 's Interactive Media Design Program Advisory Committee. The committee's goal is to provide professional advice and recommendations to develop the curriculum of the Portland Art Institute's Interactive Media Design department. Justin said "it's exciting to assist such an incredible school. They are truly devoted to developing the most creative and skilled interactive media designers exceeding the demands of current and future industry needs." Tom Paul, Pop Art's Executive Director of Operations, participated as an expert panelist at the March 3rd, 2005 AeA event, Operational Excellence: Turning Vision into Reality. Tom shared his experience on shaping an operational focus on growth, profitability and success. Tom said about the event "It was a great experience. I learned from the other panelists and I shared my own insight into the importance of aligning individual and enterprise goals, top-grading through strategic HR, and creating over time an enterprise focus on excellence. Steve Rosenbaum, Pop Art's President and CEO, led a workshop through Portland State University's Professional Development Center. The course he developed gave insight into the future of Web Site Development through a software engineering approach. The course focused on implementing best practices, methodologies and tools to ensure maximum benefits for businesses. Two sessions were held in March and there will be two more in May. Steve Rosenbaum and Pop Art's Search Engine Marketing Manager, Scott Orth, were featured speakers at the March Internet Professionals NW event, Marketing Investments Best Practices. They discussed the hottest tools, trends and best practices to increase marketing ROI. The event was held on March 8, 2005, at the OHSU Nursing School Auditorium.
Steve Rosenbaum moderated the February 10th AeA event, Software Licensing: Effectively Navigating as a Licensee or Licensor, which analyzed the business and legal implications of license contracts.
Scott Orth presented an Introduction to Search Engine Marketing: Initial Steps to Success! at the January 25th Portland Chapter of the AMA's Marketer's Toolkit Breakfast. - Harrington & Associates - Harrington & Associates, a local speech and presentation training company selected Pop Art to provide web site design and interactive marketing services.
- MBank - MBank, a leading regional provider of personal and business banking, mortgage and investment services, has selected Pop Art to provide web site design services. MBank puts an emphasis on providing superior customer service and exceptional banking relationships to their customers.
- Reliant Behavioral Health - Reliant Behavioral Health, a leading provider of managed behavioral health care and employee assistance program services, has chosen to partner with Pop Art's interactive design services in the redesign of their web site. Pop Art's design team will work closely with RBH to develop a strategy and visual presentation to communicate RBH's strength of service, quality of benefits and programs offered to their members.
- Columbia Weather Systems - A subsidiary of Hinds Instruments, Columbia Weather Systems manufactures and distributes the Capricom line of weather stations around the world to professionals in public safety, research, meteorology, aviation and industry.
- Unimog Trucks - Unimog Trucks , which manufactures the versatile Unimog, has renewed web site maintenance services for an additional year.
- Secret Garden Child - Featuring an online store offering fine apparel for infants and children, Secret Garden Child has selected Pop Art to provide search engine marketing and direct email marketing services.
- A-L Compressed Gases - Offering gas detection and respiratory protection products, A-L Compressed Gases has selected Pop Art to provide a full web site redesign and search engine marketing services.
Launches and Project Completions:
- Blue Dragon Communications - Harrington & Associates partnered with Pop Art to design their web site to support their re-branding efforts to Blue Dragon Communications . Pop Art implemented a design that highlights the value of Harrington's renowned communication training programs, and provides their clients and prospects easy access to schedules and program information. Pop Art is scheduled to commence the second phase of the project to include e-commerce and search engine marketing .
- Hinds Instruments - Pop Art launched a newly redesigned Hinds Instruments web site. Pop Art provided design and development services, including the integration of the Catabolt TM web content management system, allowing Hinds to easily update and create relevant content for their site. Hinds Instruments is the world's leader in Photoelastic Modulator-Based Research Tools, and provides turn-key solutions to companies as well as individual components to students and scientists seeking to create their own solution. This is the second collaboration between Hinds and Pop Art, who partnered on the design and development of Hinds' Exicor product line website in September of 2004.
- Heritage Schools - Pop Art launched a web site for Heritage Schools a treatment center for at-risk adolescents located in Provo, Utah.
- Belamar Hotel - Pop Art launched Hotel Belamar is the ultimate escape for Los Angeles's elite. Pop Art provided naming, branding, and web design services for this very hip hotel in Manhattan Beach, California.
New Team Members:
- Jonmichael Presley - Jonmichael joins Pop Art as a Software Engineer. He previously worked for Corillian and Microsoft. His expertise includes development of web applications, .NET and custom platforms, and test automation scripts.
- Michael "Blu" Drobushevich - Michael joins Pop Art as a Search Engine Marketing Analyst. Michael has run effective search engine optimization and marketing campaigns for several companies, including BMG Web Stores, which he co-founded.
- Tracy Weber - Tracy joins the Pop Art team as Project Manager. Tracy previously worked as Production Manager for Steelhead Advertising, and has worked as a web producer, project manager and freelance web consultant.
